The plant is a fast-growing, woody climber that requires trellises or vertical support systems. It thrives in tropical and subtropical climates and begins flowering in spring with attractive white to pale yellow blooms. It prefers deep, well-drained soil, rich in organic matter, with a neutral to slightly acidic pH between 6.0 and 7.0. The plant starts fruiting within 18 to 24 months from planting and produces a high yield of small to medium-sized fruits.
